Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Information Security Specialist to join our team. As an Information Security Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our company's information systems and data.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats to our information systems and data.
- Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security technologies to protect against cyber threats.
- Monitor and investigate security events and incidents, and respond to security breaches in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide security training and awareness to employees to enhance their understanding of cybersecurity risks and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest information security threats, trends, and best practices to ensure our security protocols are current and effective.
- Work collaboratively with other IT staff to implement security measures and ensure the integrity of our systems.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the availability of critical information systems and data in the event of a disruption.
- Conduct security assessments and due diligence for third-party vendors and partners to ensure their security controls meet our standards.
- Manage security incidents and coordinate incident response efforts with other IT staff, business stakeholders, and external parties as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security roles, with a strong understanding of information security principles, best practices, and technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Proficiency in conducting security risk assessments and audits.
- Demonstrated ability to respond to security breaches and incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other IT staff and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and laws such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
- Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Familiarity with security assessments and due diligence for third-party vendors and partners.
